Imlil Atlas mountains day trip

9:00 am we will be heading South, via the High Atlas Mountains, through the city of Tahanaout: the small earth-colored houses cling to the sides of the steep valleys, where the women walk unveiled through the streets, when the village hosts a large and interesting Tuesday market. Beyond Tahenaout, the road will leads us to climb more quickly, travelling up the route carved through the mountains by the Oued Reraia-a shallow, boulder-strewn river that becomes a ranging torrent during the spring snow-melt. After around 10 km of hairpin bends, the pilgrimage town of Moulay Brahim, set on a dramatic cliff-top. We continue driving to the town of Asni, from where we will head up the narrow road to Imlil and Jebel Toubkal. (1st option): you will be guided and go for a hike to explore the area (about 1 hour of walk), lunch in a Berber family’s house. (2nd option): the best of Morocco hides from sight get a mule and let its owner guide you through the village, and ride up the mountain; Lunch in a Berber family’s house. Afternoon, drive straight back to Marrakech, through the same route.
