6 Days Toubkal Circle Trek from Imlil – Lac d’Ifni – Amsouzart

Experience an unforgettable 6-day Toubkal Circle Trek starting from Imlil village in the High Atlas Mountains. This scenic adventure takes you across traditional Berber villages, dramatic mountain passes, and stunning valleys toward the spectacular Lac d’Ifni, the highest lake in Morocco. Continue with the ascent of Mount Toubkal (4167m), North Africa’s highest peak, before descending to the authentic village of Amsouzart. Day 01 – Marrakech – Imlil – Tizi Tamatert (2300m) – Tachddirt Village (2314m) ▲
After breakfast in Marrakech, drive to Imlil where you will meet your trekking team. Begin the hike through beautiful mountain scenery, ascending the valley toward the Tizi Tamatert pass at 2300 meters above sea level.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at the pass before continuing the trek toward Tachddirt village, located 14 km from Imlil. Experience traditional Berber life in the High Atlas Mountains.

Overnight: Tent or local guesthouse in Tachddirt village.
Day 02 – Tachddirt Village – Tizi Likemt (3550m) – Azib Likemt ▲
Today involves a long but rewarding ascent. Begin the slow climb toward Tizi Likemt, reaching an altitude of 3550 meters. From the summit, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Atlas Mountains.

Stop for a picnic lunch before descending toward the remote village of Azib Likemt at 2200 meters above sea level.

Overnight: Camping at Azib Likemt.
Day 03 – Azib Likemt – Tizi Ouray – Amsouzart Village ▲
This day is relatively easy but long, crossing a variety of landscapes including valleys, mountain paths, and Berber villages. The trail leads over Tizi Ouray before descending toward Amsouzart village.

Arrive at Amsouzart, located at an altitude of 1700 meters, where you can relax after the day’s walk.

Overnight: Hotel or guesthouse in Amsouzart village.
Day 04 – Amsouzart – Lake Ifni (2300m) ▲
Trek through several traditional Berber villages as you make your way toward Lake Ifni. This is the only lake in the Mount Toubkal region, set at 2300 meters and surrounded by dramatic rocky peaks.

Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lake and the stunning mountain scenery.

Overnight: Camp beside Lake Ifni.
Day 05 – Lake Ifni (2300m) – Tizi n Ouanoums (3650m) – Toubkal Refuge (3207m) ▲
This is the most challenging day of the trek. Ascend a steep mountain path to reach Tizi n Ouanoums at 3650 meters. Take a well-earned picnic lunch while enjoying incredible views.

After lunch, descend toward the Toubkal Refuge at around 3200 meters.

Overnight: Tent or Toubkal refuge.
Day 06 – Toubkal Refuge – Mount Toubkal Summit – Imlil – Marrakech ▲
Start before dawn for the final ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal. From the top, enjoy spectacular views across the Atlas Mountains and surrounding valleys.

Descend back to the refuge for lunch, then continue down to Imlil. Transfer back to Marrakech, marking the end of your trekking adventure.
